Thank you for your inquiry.
Under Italian Nationality law 91 of 1992 as a daughter of an ex Italian national by birth you would be entitled to acquire Italian nationality quicker than other non-nationals.
Under article 4 of the law, you would be entitled to do this if:
a) you apply and success for "servizio civile" for the Italian state declaring that you intend to apply for Italian citizenship;
b)you become a State employee, even abroad and you declare that you intend to apply for Italian citizenship;
c) at your 18th birthday, you have already been lawfully residing in Italy for longer than 2 years and declare to have the intention to apply for Italian nationality;
Otherwise,if you come, live and reside in Italy, under Article 9, you can naturalize Italian after just 3 years (instead of 10) of lawful residence.
