Buriel is fine for his remains -- Jerry doesn't care, and his mother doesn't care either, as his mother -- as all animals do -- see thier kin in spirit. Animals are closer to spirit and see them with no problem.
You do, what you need to do with Jerry's remains, whatever makes you feel good. His mother still feels and sees him and doesn't mind what you do with his body.

Not at all dear, not from an emotional standpoint to mamma kitty. But you need to think about the practical side, of the remains and what happens if left too long. I probably don't need to go into deep detail about that, but it would be very upsetting for you to see.
If I were there with you, I would find a beautiful place the back yard and puton some good gloves. Then I'd dig a small a hole. I would wrap the body is some cloth, and then carefully place him in the hole. I would say a prayer of thanksgiving to the Divine, that he was allowed to bless our lives. I would say a prayer that he be free to play with his ancestors on the Other Side. I would say an "Our Father" and a "Hail Mary". I would fill the hole with dirt and then cover the dirt with heavy stones. Then I go inside and remove my gloves, and would wash my hands while reciting the Our Father.
He'll rest in peace after that, and so will you. :)
