I know this may sound redundance but I just need to know if

Resolved Question:

I know this may sound redundance but I just need to know if I am cooking it right. I have the Cuisinart electric pressure cooker CPC 600 model. As an example I have a 4 pound chicken I want to cook in the pot. The cooking time states 24 to 28 mins (but does not say how many pounds per min). I am safely guessing that a 4 pound chicken muliply by 24 min is when the chicken will be ready and not at 24 mins as stated in the book. Do you have other links that show how to use this product? I been to the U-tube but it is not what I am really looking for in depth. I want to see videos demonstrating the times on different products. I just use my cooker for the first time. I love it. But I need to know more. Please advise

A pressure cooker cooks very quickly as the food is under pressure and heat. The 24 minutes stated is correct for the amount of time to cook a 3-4 pound chicken. You should use a cooking thermometer to be sure the food is fully cooked after opening the pressure cooker.

These are a pressure cooker charts that gives cooking time for various meats:

These books are recommended for use with this pressure cooker and should offer all the recipes that you need to cook great meals:

I hope this information helps you with cooking your Chicken and other great meals. Joan
