The surname Mullee is originally of Irish origin - Ancient Celtic, and is extremely uncommon worldwide. Even in theUK and Ireland, less than 1 in 2 million people have the name. It's etymology is not known, the meaning of the name is unknown. It is, however, a clan in it's own right, with an identifiable family crest - you will find details of that here:

In the property survey finished in 1864, there were 13 families with the namw in Mayo, and 1 inm Kildare. The name may well be a variation of another county Mayo name, O'Mulleeny. It may also derive from Molloy and its own variations which makes a definitive root almost impossible to find.
