Resolved Question:

I am buying a boat from a individual, it is a 2005 19' bayliner, should this boat have a title, or how do I check if it has any liens against it ?

What state are you purchasing the boat in and in what state do you live?

Here is a list for the state of Pennsylvania that answers your questions. I am sure most states will have a similar link.

What I found interesting is that they require a signed statement of transfer of ownership along with current registration AND title.

You can read over their requirements here:

And I can assist you in looking up the requirements for your state if you prefer when you get that information to me.
