Hi Guys, found a hammond M3 that has been sitting unused in

Resolved Question:

Hi Guys, found a hammond M3 that has been sitting unused in a home for years. Had not been oiled forever. I got it home oiled it up, got the starting motor going, but have a squeal in one of the bearings in the tone generator. Oiled some more (did use hammond oil) let it sit for a couple days, but still have the squeal. Any hope of getting oil to the dry bearing, or is the tone generator toast? I'll give anything a try!! Thanks, tim

What you need is "Kroil".

There is a penetrating oil made for just such a circumstance. Far better than any other commercial product, even manufacturer's products like Hammond oil.

No, not WD-40.

Use Kano Labs' "Kroil". It actually does what it says it does - seeps into sub-micrometer spaces, weakens rust, and allows the turning of nuts, spark plugs, anything, without the danger of over-torquing and breaking.

You can get it at

You can read about it here and order it direct on the Kano web site:

The stuff works, I've used it for more than 30 years.
