As Everest is at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) over the sea level, it would be 8,848 metres over the actual sea level. It would be a bit less at the poles and more and the equator because of the centrifugal force.

There is not enough water on earth to allow this. If Antarctica melt, 200 feet could rise and about 25 feet more if Arctic melt.

How much water would it take to make earth below sea level? In the bible there is mention of houses under water that are livable.

According to wikipedia, earth radius at sea level is 6371 km. If you calculate that volume and subtract it from the same value + 8.8 km (Everest) you get:


1083206916845.8 - 1087701686926.4 = 4,494,770,080.6 km^3

1,360,000,000 km^3 is the total amount of water on earth, so just to fill the additional level up on top of Everest (like in the movie Waterworld) would take 3.3 time more water than the earth currently have.

That said, there is enough water if you flatten the land.

In the area where the satelites roam, if there was water in that area, how thick would it have to be to protect us from the suns uv rays. How much water would it take to surrond the globe?

If we take a geostationary orbit at an example, this is at 36,000 km above current sea level. It would take LOT of water as it would take all the space currently took by the air and then some more.

UV don't get far in water, and if water was reaching up to the limit with space, it would be similar to Europa
