Hi Katy, sounds like you're into chemistry. Both lanthanides and actinides are rare earth elements, which are similar in their electron structures. I know a bit more about actinides as I worked awhile in x-ray and nuclear medicine. Actinides include plutonium and uranium; radioactive materials. Lanthanides are used in ceramics, such as tiles. In the periodic table, actiniods are nos. 89 to 103, while lanthinides are from nos. 57 to 70. I'm guessing that you already knew that. So, any chemical on the periodic chart with those numbers would be additional names for those two elements. Hope that helps.
