Resolved Question:

i have a brand new cd that played just fine at first. no scratches or fingerprints. played it no more than three times. when i try to play it now, all it does is spin a couple of times, stop, spin, stop, then automatically goes to the next cd in the player. all other cd's play fine. i have this problem with just a couple of my cds. why do they play sometimes, and then sometimes they do not.

This is an excellant question and have not been able to find an answer it might be possible that the CD is dirty but the dirt or dust particles may not be visible. Buy some dust-off or cleaner that works with CD and try cleaning it that way.

Since the music is typically "burned" onto the CD the "burning" may not have been done appropriately. See if you can get a replacement CD from where you bought it.
