VerifiedI am in the exact same situation. My daughters father died from cancer, and she has a stepmother and a half sister. As far as I'm concerned, her half sister is her sister, period, we don't talk half this, half that. Of course when it comes to the stepmom, it's completely your call. If it's ok with the stepmom, and your daughter still wants to call her that, then I would leave it be. It's not easy to find a stepmom who's great and loves her husbands other children. I have a great relationship with my daughters stepmom, and still do even though he passed 5 yrs ago.
