How thick is the concrete and what type of saw are they using?

Customer: replied 11 years ago.
Reply to John D.'s Post: Concrete is 4 to 6 inches thick, Saw is a Stow, gas powered 13 horse power, 16in. diamond blade.Self propelled.

With this saw you can cut between 30 to 70 sq inches per minute, depending on the concrete strength, presence of reinforcing steel, and local conditions.

Taking a near average rate of 40 sq in per min, and assuming concrete thickness of 5 in, the length of concrete cut per min is 40/5 = 8 in, which is 8 x 60 = 480 in or 40 ft per hour.

Assuming a daily efficiency rate of 75%, the lenght that can be cut in an 8 hour day would be 40 x 8 x 0.75 = 240 ft per day.

Also please noe that a 16 in blade may not be able to cut through a 6 inches thick slab (more likely up to 5 inches thick).

Hope this helps.
