Hello Albert,

There are hundreds of web sites for Irish research, history, and "how to". Some of them require subscriptions in order to access the records, some are free, and some charge per page of results or per search. The best web site for Irish Genealogy will always be the one that has the information you are seeking. Here is a list of some of the more popular ones;

Find My Past

Irish Genealogy

Irish Family History Foundation

GENUKI: UK and Ireland Genealogy

Directory of Irish Genealogy 2013 Edition

Ireland Genealogy

The National Archives of Ireland

Ulster Historical Foundation

Public Record Office of Northern Ireland - PRONI

This should be enough to get you started. Good luck with your research.

Hello Albert,

Thank you for your patience; I had a family emergency which demanded my attention.

I assume from the information you provided that you are looking for information/vital statistics on Robert while he was still in Ireland. I have located two possible matches for your Robert.

On there are two family trees which contain a Robert Carson who was born in Tyrone, Northern Ireland in 1836, arrived in Canada in 1846, and died in New Brunswick, Canada 26 June 1894. His parents were William Carson (b.1811 & d. 1872) and Jane Ann Roberts (b.1815 & d. 1887). One of the trees shows he married Annie Mackie on 2 October 1855 in Lancashire, England. There are no source citations for any of the information in either of these family trees, so all of the information is suspect.

The other Robert Carson was born in Newry, Down, Ireland. His parents were William Carson and Isabella Black. He had a sister, Matilda Jane Irwin born 1835 and a brother, John born 1832.

I hope this helps.
