Is there any law where a couple who have a domestic argument

Customer Question

Hi. Is there any law where a couple who have a domestic argument which then results in the suicide of one person? Something like a murder without using a gun? Is there any redress. There is video of the domestic argument taken by the person who later( Within 36 hours of argument) took their life.
Many thanks

It could be construed that the other partner be sued for manslaughter could it be proved that he/she pushed the other party to commit suicide by way of harassment. But one would step on very shaky ground there as establishing a direct link between an argument and a suicide which would be acceptable in court would be very difficult. And one would have to prove that the argument was meant to push the other party other the edge... Intention is the key... And responsibility, which could definitively not be established simply on the basis of the above mentioned video, which was most likely recorded illegally...

On the other end, the person filing a complaint against the surviving party on such ground is very likely to end up sentenced for libel.

Thank you. Yes difficult. However I have found out overnight that the Mali police have asked the surviving partner to remain for seven days more
