Moose, I'm not getting a signal from the P.T.C.M. to the cam sensors, I checked the relay it seem to be working ok. The truck starts and runs very rough, limp home mode is on and the exhaust stinks. Is there a fusable link in the wiring harness some where I couldn't find one. Thanks

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka-Moose).

  • THE TIME I AM ONLINE, 7 days a week normally online around midday and then late evening until early morning.
  • PHONE CALLS are automatically offered by the website normally after my first reply. I complete calls where I feel it is a benefit.
  • UPLOADED LINKS I SEND, if I upload dropbox links, they will open on a home PC, often they fail on a work PC, on a phone use the box on the top right of your phone screen for direct download.

DId you mean to say the PCM is not getting signal from the CMP sensors? There are no fuses nor relays in those wires. They are direct wired CMP to PCM. DO you need a diagram?

You now will see a rating scale a row of yellow stars from bad to excellent, because I have posted my 1st full/partial answer. When you rate I get a portion of the deposit you made, no rating means you still paid, but I earn nothing. My goal is understanding your question, and addressing it in full detail. In return, receiving a 5-star rating. Rating does not close the post or stop the conversation. Please keep in contact and reply as much as needed. Thanks, Chris

maybe the easiest way for me to describe the problem is I have no power to cam shaft sensors
Ford Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Technician replied 2 months ago

Are you getting this result at the CMP or PCM connector?

Can you check at the PCM so we can see if there is a wire break?

Thanks, ***** ***** check at the PCM direct from the output?

im not sure how to do that
Ford Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Technician replied 2 months ago

At the PCM connector push a paper clip in beside the wires for the CMP so you have something to touch your meter to without unplugging the connector nor damaging the wire.

both sides jump between 0.01 and 0.00, dont we need at least a .5
Ford Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose), Technician replied 2 months ago

The wire diagram does not show VREF for these wires. Here are the CMP tests https://www.dropbox.com/s/0oyhbh7vma6ey9h/CMP10.pdf?dl=0
