2001 E-150 4.2 236K mi Monday afternoon MIL lamp

Good afternoon Steve... 2001 E-150 4.2...
Good afternoon Steve...
2001 E-150 4.2 236K mi Monday afternoon MIL lamp activated...scanned at home 20 min later showed P0304....after engine cooled I pulled cylinder #4 plug inspected it, dry with light brown color...no signs of carbon build up...checked gap was .60 regaped to .54 and reinstalled...did visual on all wires and checked connections...all looked fine. Cleared DTC. Drove Tues....slightly improved but still missing at idle/ low rpm...not so much at higher rpm's. MIL lamp activated again Wednesday afternoon, rescanned and got codes P1285...P0303...P0304 and P0306. Checked all fluids...all were good and at recommended levels.

Misfires can also come from vacuum leaks, dirty injectors, CRANK sensor and low compression. These are other areas for you to follow up on.

Also, the scan tool gives freeze frame data for the codes and MODE 6 is very helpful finding misfires too.

you have to assist us. Also understand that I can't see, smell,
hear, or touch the vehicle either, so your patience is
appreciated. JA is a great Q/A site, but it does not replace a
repair shop. So please don’t shoot the messenger if I have to
deliver bad news:)

The scan data that I mentioned first, it's the fastest and easiest, then check for vacuum leaks with a smoke machine internal and external. Then compression tests.
