2008 e-350, 5.4Just replaced...
2008 e-350, 5.4Just replaced shift tube(plunger was broken). All reassembled. smooth shifting through all gears.Problem- Key turns but nothing happens. No accessory power - no nothing. Battery is good(door chimes.)

What is the battery voltage?

Did you unplug the ignition switch, if so is it connected firm with no loose wires?

I cant measure voltage-- i would guess its strong enough - key in ignition bell loud and clear, lights strongi removed ignition cylinder to remove trim, dropped column, replaced shift tube assembly and reassembled. did not unplug ignition switch

no -- im not at home. I did attach jumper cables to a good running auto--made no difference.is there something that prevents starting involved with shifter?its weird because im getting no accesory power when turn key at all

A shifter alignment issue can cause a no crank concern but not a no power concern for the different key positions. This is why we need a tool to do some electrical testing.

hi----FYI decided to take to dealer---took ford dealer 3 hours to find two wires pinched when i dropped column----unavoidable i guess and not an easy diagnosis--no way we could have chased it down-beyond my abilities.thanks anywaytim
