Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? Have you checked the bulbs?

Yes i have to pull the low beam fuses to get th lights to go out so th battery does not drain

it has the switch were the lights come on in the dark automatically. The lights are not automatically on diring the day

Thank you. We need to see if it is the multifunction switch or the headlight switch is the cause of the headlights staying on.

below is the wiring diagram of the circuits and the connector on the multifunction switch we need to test at.

Put the fuses back in and see if the headlights come back on with everything turned off.

Then, at the connector shown below, check for power on pins #8 and #7 and see what wire has power.

Please let me know what you find.

It is the turn signal/wiper switch that Ford calls the multifunction switch. You will have to remove the trim panels from the steering column to get to the wiring connector.

Do you need directions for removing the trim panels?

You only need to remove the upper and lower covers on the steering column, not the steering wheel.
