you have power out of Pin #30 at the fuel pump relay while cranking the engine?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
There is power while cranking and while the key is at the on position.
Ford Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

Pin #30 is the power feed out of the relay to the inertia switch on the green/yellow wire. If you have power out of the relay then you should have it at the green/yellow wire at the inertia switch. Where are you loosing the power?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
I’m not sure. I had power at pin 30 and 86 with the relay out.
Ford Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

The power pins with the relay out should be 85 and 87, with the relay removed there should be no power on pin 30.

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Ford Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

Can you check these two pins to see if you have key on power to them both?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
When I checked them yesterday with the key on only 30 and 86.
Ford Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

Those are the wrong pins for the fuel pump relay. See the link below for the correct pin locations in the connector with the relay removed. The power feed pins are pins 85 and 87. Please recheck these with the key on. Pin 86 is the relay ground and pin 30 is the power feed out to the inertia switch.

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Ok I was wrong 85 and 87 have power with key on.
Ford Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

Okay do you get power at the inertia switch if you jump 87 to 30 with a jumper wire?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
No power at inertia switch. Now check charging system warning is on
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Now the ecu locked me out
Ford Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

If you have power at 87 and you jump it to 30 you should have power at the inertia switch. Pin #30 feeds the inertia switch.

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Well I do not.
Ford Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

Okay then you have to be doing something wrong here. I will open this back up for you and perhaps some else has a easier fix for you.

Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Well the ecu has now locked out

if you don't have power at the inertia switch with 30 and 87 jumpered at the relay then you have an open wire between the relay and inertia switch. period
