I have a 1999 Ford F-350 super duty 7.3L DRW.
Turn signals don’t work.
Break lights and 4-way flashers do.
Power at F1 and f23 in the cab fuse box is good.
When the 4-way . flashers are tuned on I can hear the flasher relay working.
I have removed the turn signal switch from the steering column and checked the contacts for proper operation with a ohm meter and they are good.
I read a post that says there is only one wire that can be causing this. Unfortunately it didn’t say which wire that was. Any ideas which wire it is? Color and where it is would be helpful.

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka-Moose).

  • THE TIME I AM ONLINE, 7 days a week normally online around midday and then late evening until early morning.
  • PHONE CALLS are automatically offered by the website normally after my first reply. I complete calls where I feel it is a benefit.
  • UPLOADED LINKS I SEND, if I upload dropbox links, they will open on a home PC, often they fail on a work PC, on a phone use the box on the top right of your phone screen for direct download.

The wire you asked about is the light blue wire between the flasher and switch. This wire is used for the turn signals. This is going to be a faulty flasher, bro***** *****ght blue wire, or a bad switch. Can you ohm test this wire and do the switch test?

You now will see a rating scale 1=bad to-5=excellent because I have posted a full or partial answer instead of an info request. When you rate I get a portion of the deposit you made, no rating means you still paid, but I earn nothing. My goal is understanding your question, and addressing it in full detail. In return, receiving a 5-star rating. Rating does not close the post or stop the conversation. Please keep in contact and reply as much as needed. Thanks, Chris

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I replaced the flasher, turn signel switch and checked the wire (it’s good). Still no turn signals. With the 4-way flashers on, using a test probe with a 12v light to ground I can see it flashing at pin 40 at the conector on the switch. When I try the right or left turn signel the is no voltage there. I was looking at the drawing and could follow the signel path for the 4-way flasher but couldn’t follow it for just the turn signals. Doses light blue wire from the flasher supply the flashing signals for both the 4-way flashers and the turn signals? Is there an input to the flasher circuit that could be missing?
Thanks
Larry

The light blue wire provides the power to make the turn signals flash.
