I have a F150 (2011) and the low beam headlamps do not work.

Customer Question
I have a F150...

I have a F150 (2011) and the low beam headlamps do not work. There is no power to the right and left low headlamps passenger compartment fuses. Therefore I believe the problem is a relay/or fuse which I think should be located in the power distribution box, but in what position???.

Mechanic's Assistant: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?

No power

Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your F150?

2011

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F150 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

I replaced the main light switch but no change,

Hi,

There are separate fuses for the left low beam and right low beam - fuses 16 and 17 in the fusebox at the right side kick panel underneath passenger side of the dash. There is not a relay

I told you there is no power to those fuses. In addition they are ok.

How are you checking those fuses? Are you using a test light or voltmeter, are you sure you are getting down inside the fuse to test for power? It takes a very small probe to test these fuses. Let me know.

Ford Mechanic: Scott W., Ford Technician replied 4 months ago

There is a pinpoint test for this, you check the bulbs, then check fuses 16,17, then run a BCM self test and if there are codes follow pinpoint test, if there are no codes, and there concern is still present, you replace the BCM, the BCM would need to be programmed to work correctly. Here is the test.
