I have a 2000 Ford Explorer, changed out my driver seat with an older seat. Of course now I get a trouble code B1994. This states air bag problems in the drivers seat. This seat I installed does not have an air bag. How can I fix this?

the code B1994 is for driver side air bag circuit high resistance.

you are right.

the only way to correct this is to put a seat with an airbag. but you can drive it like that with no problem. air bags will still function normally, only the SRS light will be illuminated

the only way it will work is to rig the harness and that can be dangerous and the air bags can deploy so im afraid i have no more info i appreciate your time

Different tech here.

The other opted out.

You need an airbag simulator to plug up in place of the seat airbag. This will trick the restraint module with the correct resistance making it think the airbag is there. Use this link https://www.dropbox.com/s/v0av6tourlsifoe/simulator.png?dl=0 search on the internet for these tool numbers so you can buy one.

Now that I have posted a partial or complete answer, you will see you can rate me. The deposit you have already paid is not transferred to me until you rate me. I would like to receive nothing less than 5-star excellent ratings. So if we are not there yet, please reply and let me help more. If you're not pleased, let me know because rating bad does not result in a refund, there are better options. Rating now will not close this post nor prevent replying. Thanks Chris

Sorry, i've been away. The seat I installed has an "end" plug, seems to be what it that would be for, right? I have read numerous forums and it seems Ford has used in those years.
