Customer Question
1993 Ford Ranger 2.3...

1993 Ford Ranger 2.3 has no spark at ignition modules. How many inputs to ecu? Possibly speeed sensor or ecu?

Mechanic's Assistant: Does the sensor have a wire-wrapped magnet? If so, have you checked it with an ohmmeter?

Yes checked on ohmmeter reading around 1500 to 1800. One open circuit Could not see wire wrapped sensor. Ecu has 4 power wire and 1 switch power.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Ranger yourself? What have you tried so far?

Put a reader showed no codes.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

We checked speed sensor, replaced the speed sensor, replaced the ecu. What inputs does the ecu require to fire the ignition module? It’s still not firing. The timing belt is new and on time. We have four power inputs and one switch power. One hot wire to spark to power ignition modules. Three wires going to the ignition modules, one is hot, should two be hot?

Here is some pinpoint testing to follow to locate the cause for no spark:When you get through this let me know and I will post more.
