Hi im having an...

Hi im having an issue on my 07 sport trac 6 cyl trans. It feels like its struggles at times from 2nd to 3rd gears or the engine sounds like it speeds up and or i get a bad kick feeling when the teans shifted gears

Mechanic's Assistant: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking?

190,000 mls. Serviced it at 150K No leaks. Has 2 codes. If I feather te gas pedal it aeems to run normal. Had to use 4x4 last night with no issues. Idk if i should get it replaced or push my luck. My friend said it could be a sensor.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your 190 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Havent tried anything. Codes are P0456 P0745...I have made repairs before, but transmissions today are not my thing.

The code P0456 is an emissions code indicating s small EVAP leak in the system and will not affect the transmission. Th code P0745 is the one to be concerned with and this sets in most cases due to a pressure control issue with the transmission. It can be set due to a failing pressure control solenoid (A) or a failing transmission. With the number of miles you have on this transmission, I would suspect it's on its way out and its time to start thinking about an overhaul and or a replacement. Unfortunately replacing the Pressure control solenoid is not likely going to solve this for you. I wish I had better news for you.
