F150 6.2 2013 Platinum. Truck is warmed up. Heat is on.

Customer Question
F150 6.2 2013 Platinum...

F150 6.2 2013 Platinum. Truck is warmed up. Heat is on. Blower not blowing. Did it intermittently starting this morning but later on this afternoon won't come on at all. Thought in might be a confused start sequence so I tried everything from trying to get a/c to blow, to walk away for a time and come back. Thermostat is my 1st guess. But could it be anything else?

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?

Truck starts and runs fine. Terminals are clean.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F150 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Just what I wrote.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

I don't think so.

Hello and Thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I will be the expert helping you today. If the blower worked intermittently already, I would almost suspect it’s a blower motor that’s starting to fail. You would need to check for power at the blower motor to verify if that is the problem.

Would there be no power to the heater motor if the thermostat was stuck? I mean if the blower isn't being told to turn on, how would I test?
Ford Mechanic: CTFordTech, Ford Technician replied 8 months ago
The thermostat would have no effect on the operation of the blower motor.

The blower motor might be being told to turn on which is what a voltage or power check at the blower motor would test for

The blower doesn't come on until the truck is warmed up as a rule. Automatic Climate control. If you are right, do you have a link or a white paper to walk me through the Blower test procedure?
Ford Mechanic: CTFordTech, Ford Technician replied 8 months ago
Under the dash, under the glovebox on the passenger side you will find the blower motor. There should be a 2 wire connector with a yellow/green wire and green/violet wire. With the climate control on and blower on, you should have power at that connector. If you don’t you will have to go back to the blower speed controller which may be at fault.

Based on our conversation, the only solution within my pay grade would be the thermostat. But if that can't be it, I'll contact the dealer tomorrow. Thanks.
Ford Mechanic: CTFordTech, Ford Technician replied 8 months ago
I do not believe it is a thermostat problem.
