Customer Question
I have a 2007...

I have a 2007 expedition. Was sitting in it while idling in a driveway. Truck just shut of and wouldn't start again. The digital display went crazy for a few minutes and lights came on in cab...but dim. Now I can't start it. No lights or anything. Just blinking Anti theft light.

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? Have you tried to reset the computer?

I haven't done anything except put a battery charger on it. I thought my alternator or battery went bad.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Expedition yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes, I'm working on it myself. I'm wondering if the Anti theft system came on somehow?

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Just that I have no power in the truck except for blinking Anti theft lockout light.

Ford Mechanic: David Craig, Auto Mechanic replied 5 months ago

ok, thats not perfect, but it will do as far as the alternator charging the battery. now turn the vehicle off and monitor the battery voltage and tell me what it drops down to and how fast

Customer reply replied 5 months ago
13 almost immediately. But, all my interior lights are on and my outside courtesy lights
Ford Mechanic: David Craig, Auto Mechanic replied 5 months ago

with the jumper cables removed you don't want it to drop below 12.5 vdc. as far as the lights being on.

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Jumper cables were off. Turned it off. Voltage dropped from 14.2 to 13 and 12.9 within a few seconds and held at that
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Now, why won't my interior lights turn off?
Ford Mechanic: David Craig, Auto Mechanic replied 5 months ago

as long as it holds above 12.5 the battery is good. as for the lights, disconnect the negative cable for 15 minutes

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Ok, but, why are they on?
Ford Mechanic: David Craig, Auto Mechanic replied 5 months ago
