2003 ford taurus brakes...

2003 ford taurus brakes are soft, goes almost to floor, abs still works but also works on dry payment!!!!! I do have brakes but does not stop on a dime, shop has bled all wheels and checked all brake components, all ok.

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you tried "bleeding the brakes" to get any air out of the line?

Shop bled all lines

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Taurus yourself? What have you tried so far?

Doing homework to find out what it could be.

Hey how are you,I will try to help you with this issue

brakes soft, look for leaks under and behind the wheels ?did you check brake reservoir is it low ,or leaking on the brake booster ?

abs activating on dry pavement is usual abs wheel sensor issue or abs module ,

these could be not related ,did all start together?

lets stsrt here and we go from there

garage bled all wheels, checked all brake parts, all ok. no warning lights on dash, test drove yesterday on ice and dry pavement. the brakes do stop car but abs working on dry pavement also. something isn't right....
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
when stepping on pedal, it drops 6 inchs and will continue to floor if pressed hard. seems better if you pump brakes but with pressure will continue to floor.

From what you saying , i suggest a brake master cylinder replacement and bleed system and retest again ,especially if orignal master cylinder

and no leak ,could be leaking internally and there is no fault codes as garage said ,hopefully they scanned abs module not just use a basic code reader on it that read engine faults only .

we need ford abs specific
