No heat from my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria LX. Replaced

Customer Question
No heat from my...

No heat from my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria LX. Replaced thermostat but still no heat. Engine temp is ok. Did briefly touch heater core's intake and outtake fluid lines and felt warm. Dropped glove compartment and saw door open and close when going from a/c to heat. Think that's the vent for outside air. With car on, I hear noise from behind dash near its center. Not a continuous clicking noise but a single noise.

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked to make sure the thermostat is working? What about the coolant level?

Changed out the thermostat. Didn't help. Engine temp gauge says ok. Not running hot. As far as coolant, reservoir is full. Again, engine not running hot.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Crown Victoria yourself? What have you tried so far?

Hope to. Replaced thermostat. Dropped glove compartment and saw door open and close when going from a/c to heat and vice versa. Listened for noise when changing from a/c to heat. Hear door closing behind glove compartment and single noise behind middle of dash. Like something is doing or trying to do something. Feel air blowing through vents, just not warm or hot air.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Guess not.

Can you start the engine and warm it up and then with the heater and engine running go out under the hood and place your hands on both heater hoses and see if both are nice and hot and let me know what you find?

Also, can you tell me if you have electronic AC (buttons) or manual (knobs)?
