Was yo using an ammeter to check the drain, if so what was the reading before and after disconnecting the cluster?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
i was. It was reading 510 berore disconecting it
Ford Mechanic: Mike S., ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

510 what, milliamps?

What did it read after disconnecting only the cluster?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
45ma
Ford Mechanic: Mike S., ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

Ok, so now what is it with the new cluster in?

If it's still up there around 510 mA, then I have to ask, is this a brand new cluster?

You know of course, the cluster is not the only thing on that fuse #21.
