HI,

Ok, have you checked the inertia switch to ensure it has not tripped?

Was there power to the fuel pump before replacing it?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
No the power was lost but the fuel pump would randomly stop working
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
The fuel pump relay was coroaded and I replaced it but the truck would randomly shut off
Ford Mechanic: Eric, Automotive Repair Shop Manager replied 7 months ago

Ok, is the inertia switch tripping?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
Nope I reset the switch still no power
Ford Mechanic: Eric, Automotive Repair Shop Manager replied 7 months ago

HI,

Ok, at the fuel pump relay cavity, use a jumper wire to install between cavity #30 and #87(the cavities or the fuel pump relay will have the numbers on them) and then turn key to on and see if the fuel pump powers

If it does not, then check for power on cavities 30, 85 and 87 of the fuel pump relay with key in cranking position and let me know the results

David L.Richmond, TX

9 dollars, 2 hours of my time, and I drove away. Your diagnosis was right on the mark. Thank you so much.
