You could check the trailer module for codes. Commonly the problem is the 2 switches on the brake master cylinder under the hood. A lot of times if a pressure switch is bad codes will be set.

What are the switches, are they on the master or ABS control? do you have any numbers please?
Ford Mechanic: EricFromCT, Ford Technician replied 7 months ago
I do not have the numbers. But the switches are backup pressure switches used for cruise control or trailer brakes and abs

Hello, A follow up. My 2015 F350 has no switches on the master cylinder,, I took truck to a diesel shop that had a scanner, no codes from module, voltage going to electric brakes at plug connection shows 6 volts after a 3 second delay, we reset the computer on dash several times to bounce back anf forth to Electric Brakes to Electric over Hydraulic , also could change the exertion pressure from light to heavy, nothing changes on voltage output, it works but there is a 3 second delay I would like to get out of it, Some where there is a control module besides the hand control in dash that probably needs replaced, you cant hae a delay when applying panic stops, some web sites show a white module, cant seem to find it any more, if you could please help with this module and a number I would greatly appreciate it, Ron p/s WE tried another 2014 F350 and voltage readings were the same, maybe I will have to adjust
Ford Mechanic: EricFromCT, Ford Technician replied 7 months ago

I am sure there is a switch on your master. I had it looked up by my Ford parts dealer. It sounds like things might be working normally on the truck. It defaults to a voltage when no trailer is detected. If you really want to verify proper operation of the brake controller you can get a trailer emulator. It simulates a trailer being hooked up so you will be able to adjust the gain and check for the trailer brake controller disconnected brake message. CLICK HERE for a link to an emulator on amazon.

Hey. I personally looked at my master, there is no switches, your emulator doesn't tell me voltage, nothing better than the real thing, I don't think there should be a delay in system with trailer hooked up and moving, my Ford parts man says my VIN tells him that I don't have sway control,

Ok. I will opt-out and maybe another expert has some better information for you. Thanks.
