Customer Question
I have a 99...

I have a 99 Explorer Limited and the air will not even turn on. I've replaced the AC relay, the Blower Motor Relay and the Blower Motor fuse is good. Suggestion?

Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the car? Has the car been starting normally?

223K miles And starts normally

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Explorer yourself? What have you tried so far?

Been trying myself

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

It got wet in a canal during a hurricane

I want to lookup the wiring diagram, so can you tell me what engine is in this and if this has automatic or manual ac?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
It is a 5.0 Limited AWD, so automatic ac.
Ford Mechanic: Mike S., ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

There are actually 2 fuses. Both labeled #2, one in the junction fuse block and one in the battery junction block. which did you check?

Check the other 1.

With the key on run, do you have voltage (12 volts) to the blower motor at the pink/white wire?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
There's 15 amp AC @ #22 I'll try that too
Ford Mechanic: Mike S., ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

What? What are you doing?

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Ford Mechanic: Mike S., ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

#22 what? A fuse?

Why are you using an ammeter? I asked how much volts and it should be DC volts.

Ask Your Own Ford Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
22 in the fuse box is labeled AC System. It is getting too dark to work on this. i'll try you tomorrow.
Ford Mechanic: Mike S., ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

Wrong fuse. I see that as auxillary power. You need to check the #2 fuse in the fuse panel lower left side of instrument panel.

And use a voltmeter on the DC volt scale. Turn the key to run, engine off and check both sides of that fuse.

Here is that wiring diagram,

Don't forget to rate me well, so I get credit. If you don't, the deposit you made will just sit there and I won't get my share of it.
