Customer Question
I replaced the calipers...

I replaced the calipers rotors and brake shoes on my 2006 f-150. I have bled the brakes to the tune of four quarts and I still have no brake pedal!

Mechanic's Assistant: How old are the brakes? How many miles on the car?

112,000

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F150 yourself? What have you tried so far?

I have tried bleeding the brakes with my buddy starting with the right rear.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

All new parts, power stop.

Good afternoon,

After bleeding the brakes manually were you able to perform and ABS bleed with a scan tool?

no

It can be a major pain to get the pedal back without performing an ABS bleed on these trucks. Sometimes you can use a pressure bleeder and get it to stiffen up like normal, but it's very difficult.

Did the truck have a decent pedal before replacing the calipers?

Do you have a pair of pinch off pliers? Needle nose vice grips will work too.
