How can I reprogram key to start truck
Ford Mechanic: Mike, Auto Mechanic replied 9 months ago

You can try disconnecting the battery terminals disconnected hold together for 10 seconds then reconnect.

See if you have any other keys for the vehicle. If not, or if your other keys will not start the vehicle either, the existing keys will need to be erased from the system with a scan tool and 2 existing or new keys will need to be programmed into the system. This can only be done with a Ford scan tool or equivalent.

3. It would also be a good idea to have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) reflashed to the latest level to keep this problem from happening again. See Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 04-14-2 for further information regarding the reflash.

I have attached the TSB in reference of your current issue.

You may need to call a locksmith to help you reprogram the keys, this tends to happen when your battery dies.
