Customer Question
The serpentine belt broke...

The serpentine belt broke and car began to overheat... I have replaced the belt and car shows overheating although does not appear to be hot

Mechanic's Assistant: What shape is the serpentine belt in? Is it cracked, shiny, or frayed? And have you ever replaced one?

The belt was frayed.. and yes, I have changed belt before.... when I start car the belt is working but warning light shows overheat

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Ford?

2013 ford escape

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Escape yourself? What have you tried so far?

After replacing the belt I have not done anything else... the car will not accelerate
