1997 7.3 all stock. Was driving, took off at a 4 way stop. Seemed a bit sluggish, then the fuel filter light/water in fuel light came on, truck died. Drained the bowl. Tried to restart, nothing!

The fuel transfer pump is mounted on top of the engine, under the turbocharger.

Check fuse #30 and see if it is blown. If so, unplug the fuel bowl heater, replace fuse, and start. When you get that WIF light, it will blow that fuse and cause a no start.

To begin, do you have a code reader? Is the oil level and condition correct? When you drained the fuel bowl, did it seem like a full bowl drained out? If you try again, is there fuel there?

It cranks and does not start now, correct? Does the check engine light come on when you cycle the key to the run position and go off when you crank it over?
