Customer Question
Engine noises, almost like...

Engine noises, almost like a series of tiny backfires about 2200 RPM, 60 = 65 MPH, all other RPM ranges (low or High) engine sounds fine.

Mechanic's Assistant: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?

Engine area, but could be transmission, been happening since I bought the RV a month ago. F450 V10. Engine very strong does not make unusual noises under any other RPM ranges.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F450 yourself? What have you tried so far?

I just dropped it off at a Ford Truck dealer who specializes in large engines, but not confident they will know what it is.

What year model?

DOes this last a long time or a short time when in this rpm and speed range?

Can you feel anything or just a noise alone?

I think this is too hard to diagnose this way. I was just thinking it was common and someone with lots of experience could tell me what it is really quick. I think I'm going to pass on this.

Okay, best of luck. If you change your mind just let me know.
