Speedometer just stopped working and transmission not shifting property
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: No leaks and I'm guessing it's a 97 transmission
JA: What is the model of your '97 Ford?
Customer: Expedition Eddie bouer
JA: Are you fixing your Expedition yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes and nothing yet gonna change filter and fluid
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. This is usually a sign of the Vehicle Speed Sensor thats bad. But to be sure you need to get it to a transmission shop where they will do a free diagnostic scan to see what transmission fault codes are stored. if it is just the vss, then you will be able to replace that as its an easy job.

Ok thanks there are no transmission shops In my area and the ones that are in a couple towns over charge $150.00 to check it out thanks for your help tho

ok, a local garage should have a scan tool capable of reading transmission codes too

Ok thanks if we had a local shop around I would have them come get it bit to have it towed and tested 55miles away is a small fortune before I even find out the issue so I guess I will just try to figure it out myself
