Just purchased and need...

Just purchased and need to replace right side exhaust manifold. Been a few years since I've worked on a vehicle. And not sure of the process if one of the studs breaks in the head.

Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the car? How has your mileage been lately?

185,250 miles. Just got tags today so have no background on this.

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Ford?

2002 xlt 250 super duty extended cab

Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your Cab?

2002

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Cab yourself? What have you tried so far?

Nothing on this truck. But used to work on my chevy's a lot.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Just how do I fix broken studs If that happens

Hi Im David thanks for visiting the site. Nothing special or different on this vehicle if you break a stud, if its broken flush you're pulling the head. if theres part of it sticking out weld a nut on the end.

What do I have to do with the aluminum head? Any thing different for protection?

not really, except dont apply too much heat too it when heating up the bolts/studs. and pay very close attention to the torque specs.
