My 2003 Ford Mustang is using an excessive amount of oil…

Customer Question
My 2003 Ford Mustang is...
My 2003 Ford Mustang is using an excessive amount of oil after I rebuilt the engine. I have removed the top of the engine including the heads. The cylinders have a build up of carbon from burning oil. The intake manifold has a gooey oil buildup in most of the chambers. The exhaust would occasionally spit out drop of raw oil. PVC valve is new. Before I removed the heads I did check compression on all the cylinders - all check above 150psi. Any thoughts?

Good morning,

When you rebuilt the engine did you go with oversize pistons and rings?

When installing the rings how far apart did you put the gap in the oil control rings?

It sounds like you have the heads off now? How do the hatch marks on the cylinders look?
