I pull the steering column all the way to the bottom and the brake lights and turn signals do not work

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the brake fluid? How's the level and when was it last changed?

Haven't checked it in a couple weeks, not sure how long sense changed It wasn't low at all

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Ford?

2003 F-150

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F150 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Had heard about the steering column possibaly pulling a connector apart

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Nothing so far, just started looking at the problem

Hello, my name is***** and thanks for your question.

This is usually caused by wiring terminals pulling out of the turn signal switch due to failed terminal locks. When the wheel is tilted it causes the terminals to pull out of the connector and create open circuits. Usually it is necessary to replace the hardshell connector (the terminal locks are part of the connector).

If you are satisfied with your answer, please take a moment to rate my service as you see fit. Experts are not compensated without a positive rating. Providing a rating does not close the question, you can reply or ask additional questions without incurring further charges.
