Overheating has new thermostat no leaks
JA: Have you checked the coolant? Have you checked for a leak in the cooling system?
Customer: Coolant is full and as far as I know there isnt
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 08 Taurus X
JA: Are you fixing your Taurus yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: A local mechanic where I got the truck from has been looking at it and he changed the thermostat
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

ok. i need you to check a few things. with the vehicle running and at operating temp, make sure the upper and lower radiator hoses are equally hot

if the upper is cooler, thats where the thermostat is. If it cooler then the thermostat isnt opening or only patially opening. I see where you said its been changed but there nothing else it can be unless the system is clogged.
