2004 ford expedition driver...

2004 ford expedition driver rear air suspension bag deflating intermittently. Thinking air spring solenoid, but cannot find any online articles showing they go bad.

Mechanic's Assistant: How has the ride been lately? Have you noticed any fluid under the car?

No fluid. bag is currently up.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Expedition yourself? What have you tried so far?

Looking to fix myself and save some money.

Gunvir, I looked all over for the driver side rear height sensor and could find nothing. Did bit more research and found only 3 part numbers are availble for 2004 Expedition height sensors. Looking more and found on justanswers.com a post that says there are only 3 height sensors, 2 front and 1 back. http://my.justanswer.com/question/guest/2268d35974e64346961d2a1a534f2ac5
I am thinking its the air spring solenoid could be the only item to cause this problem at this point.
If there truly is only one rear height sensor it must be working if the passenger rear airbag works properly...right?
I am thinking If it were an air leak the rear driver side would lower regularly. I failed to mention when it does go down it can go down in minutes. I also failed to mention this problem only happens after the Expedition has been turned off and on; its a crap shoot as to the air bag deflating and it will in minutes.

Sorry about the wait. If your vehicle has only one sensor in the back then ride height sensor can not be to blame. Since it is an intermittent issue the problem could be the invidual solenoid in the rear. Also check the rear shock absorbers for any sign of wear or leakage, that can also affect the ride height and since you have only one sensor in the back can command the comrossor to deflate the driver rear.
