Here’s the sequence of events I follow:Check fluid level and color. Make appropriate repairs.Check shift solenoids with a scan tool in bidirectional mode ifapplicable. Shift solenoids are inside the transmission and this isthe easiest way to check them.Drop pan and inspect for excessive metal shavings inside pan.Check valve body and clutches visually.Hopefully you may not have to go this far, maybe you just were abit low on fluid.Please understand that I don't know your skill level or tools youhave to assist us. Also understand that I can't see, smell, hear, ortouch the vehicle either, so your patience is appreciated. JA is agreat Q/A site, but it does not replace a repair shop. These tests will also check the vacuum system as well.

That's why diagnostics are so critical. I can talk on the phone, yes.
I do think it sounds like a tranny issue, but don't put any money into parts until it's been confirmed by the proper technician.
All the testing can be done with a scan tool in less than one hour.

leave the pan alone, we do all the tests with the scan tool that plugs into the computer connector. it's the only way to check shift solenoids too.
Good, we still need to do the bidirectional tests and MODE 6 tests.

Last reply to rate, when you get the scan tool, the menu will prompt you for the different tests. They're all different.
