The car alarm is going off and it will not allow me to start

the car alarm is going off and it will not allow me to start the truck... I just put in a new battery
JA: Have you tried locking and unlocking the driver's side door using the key itself?
Customer: no
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 1999 xlt ranger 6cyl
JA: Are you fixing your Ranger yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: just putting in a new battery..
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hey how are you

Lets try this Master reset first and we go from there

Master reset Procedure

1- Disconnect Battery Cables ( Negative & Positive Cables )you can use any electrical wire as an extension if battery cables don't reach .

2- Hold cables Together for 60 secs ,then let go

3- Wait 30 minutes

4- Make sure all doors are closed

5- Reconnect battery Cables

6- Lock & unlock the vehicles using the key from driver door side (if you have a key fob with no blade key, just lock & unlock using the key fob buttons)

7- Enter the vehicle and attempt to start

put the negative and positive cables together while they are off of the terminals... they wont spark will they??

yea , no they want ,remember we took battery source out

I did what you had instructed, it did not work. Still unable to start the truck and the alarm keeps going off.

at this time we need a factory scanner or equivalent to read anti theft module fault codes so we based on the fault # we can pull up trouble shoot & be accurate & you dont end up throwing parts at it , it could be door switch ,hood trunk, anti theft module , key , receiver ect,if you get it scanned post fault back here for me& i can help you further
