need mechanic familiar with snap on modis. is there away to monitor crank and cam sensor with the modis? need to see if its giving a signal.

Yes if you have the lab scope feature just follow the vehicle specific guide for the cam and crank pin out they have made it very easy

no way to test it via looking at the data input from hooking it up to obd II?

You can go into the data stream and view the engine rpm and weather the cam and crank have sync. but if you are looking for the actual output of each sensor then its time to get out the lab scope and back probe at the sensors or at the PCM connection

Also if you are looking for a signal only when cranking a non firing engine then your definitely going to need the lab scope as their is not allot of data available through the OBD while cranking
