Customer Question

My husband hit the lock button as we got out of the car , with the keys in it
JA: Is the key stripped or worn?
Customer: No
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: Escape 2008
JA: Are you fixing your Escape yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: VIN #1FMCUO3198KD07734
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: We tried using a coat hanger but it won't reach to catch hold of anything

See if you can hit the unlock button with the coat hanger. I cannot get you the key code for your Escape. Only the service manager of our dealerships has security access to that information.

We have already tried a coat hanger

Why don't you have access to the codes?
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 months ago.

The only other option is a mobile locksmith. Like I stated, only my service manager has the security access for key codes. Ford keeps them under heavy lock and key with limited access and you also need proof you own the vehicle and your drivers license.

The website I got said you did

Where is the service manager?
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 months ago.

The service manager of my Ford dealership. Not the website. Only Ford dealership service managers have access to the key codes for the door locks.

Well I guess we are done , thanks for nothing

Sorry. But if everybody had access to the key codes for Fords, there would be a lot of stolen vehicles.
