Hello, is the engine running smooth or rough?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It idles high but runs ok
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Has new IAC as well
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
No I have not
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Both the banks running lean at the same time could be from too much air or not enough fuel pressure. Since the smoke test passed, next step is to check the fuel pressure. If fuel pressure good, it could be a faulty mass air flow sensor.

Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Ok.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Koeo 39 psi
Koer 32 psi
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Its on the low side but it is till under specification.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
What should we do next?
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Do you hear any exhaust leaks?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I don't hear or see any, but there is water leaking out of exhaust in one spot but it's well after the down stream oxygen sensor
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

That is normal and the leak after the doenstream oxygen sensor willnot effect it. Since no exhaust leaks, no intake leaks and fuel pressure within specs, next step is the mass air flow sensor.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
How do we test that?
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Unfortunately the manufacture have not provided a manual test to check the mass air flow. It has to be checked by a scanner. I would start by visually inspecting the mass air flow filament for any contamination

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I have a scanner
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Is it able to perform mass air flow check?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I assume, it is a snap on versus edge
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

I have a modis and i'm sure you should be able to. There shuld be an option for special functions, component tests or component activation once you put vehicle's vin#

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
We fixed it we replaced intake gasket and isolator bolts
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Thats great, did the smoke test you did before not show faulty intake gaskets?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
No but the short term fuel trims went negative when I sprayed brake clean around it.
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 5 months ago.

Ok, i wish i would have known that before. Either way glad it is taken care off.
