Ford Fiesta, for some reason battery will not stay charged.

Customer Question

Ford Fiesta, for some reason battery will not stay charged. New battery, new alternator, new computer put in by ford service, but problem still exists. What could we be missung to cause this?
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: Done
JA: What year is your Fiesta?
Customer: My sons car so not sure what year, but definitely newer
JA: Are you fixing your Fiesta yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: My son has taken it to three shops, first was battery, second was alternator, third was computer board at a ford shop. Nothing works, can travel about ten miles then battery dies.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: This car is actually a 2003 Ford Focus set with a zeta inline-4 2.0l/121 cid

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose). I'm here to help 365 days a year, but not every hour of the day. I try to prevent delays as much as possible. Please understand I am not there and can only advise based on what you tell me. Let's get started.

So the car is dying while driving resulting in no electrical power. It is not dying from a battery draw while the vehicle is off. Do you own a DC volt meter so we can diagnose this?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Actually Ford Focus SVT 2003, motor size Zetec Incline-4 2.0L/121 CID, I am assuming ford shop has taken this step, next idea
Expert:  Chris (aka- Moose) replied 5 months ago.

I have not posted an idea yet. I asked for confirmation on the issue and asked if you had the tools to diagnose this?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I cant really answer, without sons help, tomorrow, but i am assuming that the three shops he has been to has used the voltage meter with no results
Expert:  Chris (aka- Moose) replied 5 months ago.

So do you want to hold off till tomorrow to see if he has this tool and knows how to use it so we can get this concern diagnosed and resolved. Apparently whatever the shops were doing was not right since its still broken.
