we have a 2000 ford station wagon, it cut off sometime while waiting for a light or sometime while it is idling.

Hello, my name is***** far the most common cause of this engine cutting off at these times is a bad idle control valve. When this part goes bad the engine computer cannot properly maintain low rpm's and the engine dies. It can also be caused by a failure int he fuel pump circuit, but this is not as common. Did you plan on fixing this yourself?
