I replaced the clutch in my 97 ford f 250 with a aftermarket

Customer Question

I replaced the clutch in my 97 ford f 250 with a aftermarket clutch now the starter dose not engage all the time with the flywheel it is chewing up the flywheel
JA: How many miles are on the clutch? Has it been slipping or sticking?
Customer: the clutch is new and dose not slip
JA: Are you fixing your E250 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I am fixing it myself. nothing so far
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: i was told when you go to a aftermarket clutch you need to shim the flywheel out so the starter will engage the teeth on the flywheel deeper don't know if this is true
